When We Were Young – coming July 2021

My new book, When We Were Young, will be out in July this year in the UK and the US. It was a strange experience, to put it mildly, to write and edit a book during, y’know, everything, but I am really proud of it, and I hope you like it.

Theo has been living in his parents’ shed, nursing a broken heart and a wounded ego, convinced life can’t get any worse. Then he gets evicted on his 30th birthday. Theo thinks he’s done with the real world until it shows up on his doorstep…

Joel is a successful TV scriptwriter, still in love with his teenage sweetheart. A proper grown-up – and yet he’s falling apart at the seams. He’s headed home to reconnect with best friend Theo except they haven’t spoken since the summer they turned 16.

One of them is keeping a secret, and the other is living a lie. But can the promise they once made to walk all 184 miles of the Thames Path help them find their way back to the truth and to their friendship?

Just finished listening to When We We’re Young on Audible. I loved this story. It made me laugh and felt like listening to people I know. Now I want the paper copy so I can spend some time with it.

I bought “How Not to Die Alone” just browsing my local bookstore and the cover and title caught my eye. I read the dust cover and was immediately interested. I really enjoyed it and also your style of writing. I look forward to reading “When We Were Young”.

Thank you so much for writing this book! I’m a regular reader, but it’s not often I find a book so affecting as Something to live for! It’s taken me through a vast array of emotions and left a last impression. I keep finding myself wondering what Andrew and Peggy are up to now. Looking forward now to reading When we were young.

I just closed your novel When We Were Young. I’m Swedish so I read your book translated into Swedish. I liked it a lot and cried a bit, of course.
    Great story!
